On the morning of September 5, 2026, the College of Mechanic (COM) officially held its Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year, joining millions of students across Vietnam in welcoming the new school year. The event was particularly memorable as it marked the College’s 50th milestone in its journey of vocational education and development.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Rector; Mr. Le An and Mr. Bui Trong Son, Vice Rectors; together with all staff, lecturers, and new students of the 50^th intake.

More than 400 new students of the 50^th intake arrived early at COM campus, filled with excitement for the new school year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the new students as well as all lecturers and staff members.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Son emphasized, the 2026–2027 academic year marks not only the start of a new school year and a new journey, but also an opportunity for both lecturers and students to reflect on the past, aprreciate the values built across generations, and reaffirm their responsibility to preserve and promote the College’s traditions in this new era. Marking 50 years of development, COM faces new standards in education. This demands ongoing innovation in teaching, higher training quality, and a stronger focus on students' practical skills and professional qualifications to keep pace with modern socio-economic needs.

Addressing the new students of the 50th intake, he emphasized the need to cultivate self-directed learning, discipline, and responsibility toward their chosen career paths, while fostering the ambition to succeed and building a solid foundation for their future. He expressed his hope that the new students would quickly adapt to the new learning environment, set clear goals, and proactively develop their knowledge, vocational skills, and professional work ethic to meet the high demands of today's labor market.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Son highlighted the teaching staff as the decisive factor in determining the College’s quality and reputation, urging all to uphold a high sense of responsibility and continuously improve teaching and management standards in the 2026–2027 academic year. Educators are encouraged to proactively innovate teaching methods, boldly apply technology in training, focus on practical skill development, and bring real-world scenarios into their lectures. Beyond imparting knowledge, every lecturers must serve as an inspirer—igniting passion, professional dedication, and strong determination while steadfastly accompanying and supporting students throughout their learning journey.

Despite upcoming challenges, COM remains steadfast in enhancing training quality, advancing scientific research, expanding infrastructure, and strengthening enterprise partnerships through unity and determination. With comprehensive financial aid and student support policies, COM continues to offer an ideal learning environment for students to master their skills and shape a bright future.

This ceremony was made even more meaningful as it coincided with the inauguration of multi-level boarding schools across mainland border communes—a milestone demonstrating the profound care and attention of the Party and State toward education, particularly in remote and disadvantaged border regions. At COM, lecturers, staff, and students tuned in together to the live nationwide broadcast in an atmosphere filled with joy, enthusiasm, and deep emotion.
